No CPE Credits, Just Epic Views: Hiking Rim to Rim with a Fellow CPA

How many CPE credits did two CPAs earn hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim?

Noneโ€”but they sure left an excellent audit trail. ๐Ÿฅ

Thanks to Earmark, I already have all the CPE credits I need this year!

But if I needed to cram in a few more hours, I could have listened to 12 hours of podcasts for 12 CPEs (or 18 credits if listening at 1.5x speed ๐Ÿคซ).

Instead, I got to catch up with my friend Amanda Aguillard. Literally, it was me trying to catch up with her for most of the day. Especially at the end. Amanda sprinted up those last 3,000 vertical feet to the rim. She beat me by an hour, even after taking a side quest to Ribbon Falls. But she was kind and had a beer waiting for me at the pub when I hobbled into Bright Angel Lodge.

It's all thanks to Xerocon! We bumped into each other in Nashville, and Amanda mentioned she was hiking the Grand Canyon next month. I was planning the same exact hike for a week later. We combined forces, and the rest is history.

And now, thanks to this post, the whole trip is a tax deduction. ๐Ÿ™Œ Right, Amanda?
